A name that symbolized ‘quality’ itself was chosen for the simplest reason, to bring only the ‘best’ to every palate. Created on the firm values of honesty, integrity and exceptional service towards customers, Qualitea prides itself in providing the ‘best tea’ the world has to offer.

At Qualitea, we are proud of our 35 year legacy and the rich experience in Tea. We stand today as one of the leading International Tea trading and Marketing companies in the world, A vision that became a reality through careful planning, dedicated hard work, integrity, commitment and complete transparency, which is also the foundation to our success.

The company has grown from its inception to be a very strong force. In the beginning, we were mainly as a bulk tea supplier. However, in the past Two decades, we have given much more emphasis to our own brands and private label retail packs. Our brands, QUALITEA, SHERETEA and GENEX have become eagerly sought after the world over. We have also continued our efforts as brand builders of many Private Label brands in numerous countries. We also continue to supply bulk teas to many of our partners who pack these teas under famous brand names internationally.

As an organisation, we strive to offer unmatched value to our clients on the strength of our sound fundamentals. We will continue our path of pursuing growth in high quality value-added teas in existing markets, whilst pursuing new markets and promoting The Best Ceylon teas and Exclusive Teas of other origins. We will continue to pay great attention to improving our Client Services and Customer Relations, while increasing our investment and empowering our businesses to attain sustainable and long-term growth as a socially responsible corporate citizen

Established Qualitea Ceylon in April

1990

Began shipping large volumes of packaged Teas to Iraq

1992

Became the first company from Sri Lanka to supply Ceylon Tea to the newly opened Private Sector in Syria

1992

Began to supply Tea to new countries of the CIS region and Russia

1994

Started supplying SHERETEA to Russia, followed by QUALITEA in 1995

1997

Started tea bagging using the World’s most sophisticated IMA C2000 Tea Bagging Machines.

Also, becoming the first to internationally produce and market staple free tea bags.

2002

QUALITEA and SHERETEA Brands being sold in over 30 countries

2007

QUALITEA penetrated over 10 African Markets

2012

Sales of both brands expand to 45 countries

2015

Teas being sold together with many private label brands, reaches over 60 destinations

Qualitea Ceylon continues to build on its market share focusing on integrity and customer satisfaction

Our Process & Purpose

Starting off and as a tiny seed, Qualitea flourished in just 2 years, on becoming the 5th largest tea exporter in Sri Lanka. Brought to prominence with its value-added packaging and being one of the forerunners in packeted tea shipments, the brand spread to over 30 countries. With a steadfast commitment to delivering naturally delicious beverages with no artificial ingredients, utilizing only the finest teas, the brand prides itself in delivering its promise through every cup.
